In India arranged/love marriages bring a lot of joy not just for the couples getting married but also for their far-flung relatives in this blog of mine I will take into account the typical Punjabi family and ya I am a very PROUD PUNJABI KUDI…most of the Punjabi weddings not only bring family and tradition together but also a lot of alcohol and irreverence yeeaaahh at least one waiter is bashed up either by the guests or by the employer for the following reasons:
· Served thanda BUTTER naan
· Forgot about the ice cubes in that large PEGG (Typical punju accent)
· Slow Service
And a lot of reasons,
Most of you might not be aware these activities but trust me they happen on almost all weddings..
· There is at least one relative of yours who embarrasses you with his dancing skills under the consumption of alcohol that you really want to vanish from the face of this planet. I did.
· If you think you are YOUNG (handsome/pretty/ugly) make sure you are no where close to any of the 60+ they can fix you with anyone and I mean it just anyone>>they tried to fix me with a 32year old guy >>why >>he was rich and a jeweler by profession........(leave me alone)
· There is at least one cousin of yours with or without your knowledge trying his/her level best to woo your friend or some guest present at your party..
· One relative is forever angry no matter what you do you can never pacify them these specimens are usually the results of family politics
Well whatever is the case by the end of it Punjabi weddings are far more happening than the others cause I believe punjus are very fun loving, music, party ,dancing, drinking, eating.. Everyone is cool with everyone by the end of the day they are very closely knit. They can never bore you no matter how conventional they may have their approach to life. I am coming from a SEMI ORTHODOX Punjabi family born and brought up in Mumbai.
{Semi Orthodox= allowed to wear jeans tshirts minis almost everything >>not allowed going to pub with friends}the list is long..
